ASP1 IIS Hosting (MySQL Upgrade)

We are upgrading our MySQL database servers from Percona Server for MySQL 5.7 to 8.4 LTS. Version 5.7 has reached end of life, and 8.4 gives you current security updates, better performance, and long-term support.

The maintenance window is Sunday, October 11, 2026, starting at 10:00 PM Mountain Time (04:00 UTC on Monday, October 12), and may last up to 3 hours, ending by 1:00 AM Mountain Time (07:00 UTC). During that time, MySQL databases will be unavailable, and websites that depend on them may show database errors.
Please make your own backup of your databases before 10:00 PM Mountain Time on Sunday. We take nightly backups, but a recent copy that you control is the best protection in case anything unexpected happens.
We're keeping mysql_native_password compatibility, so older applications should continue to connect as they do today with no changes. This method is deprecated, so we recommend moving to the newer default, caching_sha2_password, when your software allows. The minimum requirements are:

PHP
 - Version 7.4 or newer. PHP 5.x and versions lower than 7.4 are not supported.

.NET Framework
- MySQL Connector/NET 6.10.7 or 8.0.11 or newer (requires .NET Framework 4.5.2 or later), or Devart dotConnect for MySQL 8.12 or newer, which also supports older frameworks.

.NET Core
- MySQL Connector/NET 8.0.11 or newer, or Devart dotConnect for MySQL 8.12 or newer.

Classic ASP
- MySQL ODBC 8.0 or newer. The 5.x ODBC drivers are not supported.

Node.js
- The mysql2 package, version 2.x or newer, on Node.js 8.0 or newer. The older mysql package is not supported.
If your software doesn't meet these requirements, there's nothing you need to do. Your software and database access will keep working as it does now.
