Can I use IMAP with my email account?

Most Corporate Email Hosting customers have access to IMAP on our email servers.  IMAP is a nice alternative to POP3 especially for those who access email from various locations but want to have the same set of folders and email messages.  With IMAP your email content is stored on our servers and a mere index and copy is loaded on your computer as you request the messages.
 
This feature of IMAP can also become an issue depending on the size of your folders, the speed of your Internet connection and the number of messages you have in each folder.  IMAP does not respond as quickly to message browsing or folder changes due to the nature of the content being stored on the mail server itself.
 
IMAP can be used with the same settings as setting up POP3 with the exception of IMAP being selected for the Email Account type.
