This morning we lost all upstream connectivity to the Internet for appoximately 2 hours from our NOC and Datacenter location in Hickory NC. Our engineers are investigating curretly to understand the cause.
2am EST - as of now things are back online. Our staff is investigating the cause of this outage.
An upstream data provider experienced a fiber emergency that caused our Hickory Datacenter traffic to go offline in a soft-fail condition. At the time, all outbound traffic was flowing via that provider Since it was a soft down and the BGP session did not go offline, we did not fail over immediately to our secondary upstream. Once this was recognized our staff moved to redirect traffic however the fiber issue was also resolved about the same time bringing everything back online.
