Setting up Android phone for email

Overview

This knowledge base tutorial will demonstrate step by step of how to set up your Android (Droid) smart phone for checking your Dytek Hosted Email accounts.

How To
  1. Select the MAIL icon from your Program List.
  2. Select the MENU button then select the option for NEW ACCOUNT (this may be under "More Options")
  3. On the Chose a mail provider screen, select OTHER (IMAP)
  4. Select the MANUAL SETUP option
  5. Enter the following settings on the INCOMING SETTINGS screen
    • Protocol: IMAP  
    • Email Address:  username@yourdomain.com  (your full email address)
    • Username:  username@yourdomain.com  (your full email address)
    • Password:  your email password
    • IMAP Server:  mail.yourdomain.com
    • Leave other settings on this screen as they are
  6. Enter the following settings on the OUTGOING SERVER SETTINGS
    • Login Required:  checked
    • Username: username@yourdomain.com  (your full email address)
    • Password:  your email password
    • SMTP Server: smtp.yourdomain.com
    • Leave other settings on this screen as they are
  7. On the final screen set the ACCOUNT NAME to a friendly name that will identify this account.  Set YOUR NAME to your name as you want others to see it when you send messages.
  8. Select FINISH SETUP
